Inflammation

The principle interest of the Renshaw lab is understanding how inflammation resolves or heals.

If we can understand this, we are a step closer to understanding how that fails in inflammatory diseases and to developing new treatments to treat failed inflammation resolution.

At present, work on inflammation breaks down into the following main areas:

• Kinases

• Interleukin-1 biology

• Regulation of neutrophil reverse migration

• Drug screening

• Identification of regulators of inflammation via genetic screening

• miRNAs in Innate Immunity

Our chosen system for seeing innate immunity in action is the Zebrafish.
