The Florey Institute is an interdisciplinary research institute within the University of Sheffield working at the host-pathogen interface.
Focussed around the gram positive pathogens Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae it seeks to aid understanding and identify new treatments for these major pathogens.

Department of Infection, Immunity and Cardiovascular Disease
The Department of Infection, Immunity and Cardiovascular Disease is part of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health. It is based on K and L floors of the Royal Hallamshire Hospital Medical School site, although several labs are based within the Bateson Centre.
Core expertise is on bacterial pathogens and innate immune defence against them. It has close ties with the Florey Institute for Host-Pathogen interaction.
